Media Technologists Mark & Phil from both City Learning Centres in Stoke on Trent have been working on the “Playing for Success project” with Stoke City FC.
Groups of children would travel to the classroom at the Britannia staduim where Phil & Mark delivered the Stoke-a-Nory and Money Money Projects.
Stoke-a-nory required the children to work in groups and create a story with a Stoke City theme. The children watched a demonstration DVD then, after a brainstorming session created their own storyboards.
After that, they drew each of the panels in the storyboard in A4 size, coloured them in and scanned them into the computers. They imported the images into Windows Movie Maker and added their own narrations.
On the 13th December 2005 a presentation evening was held in the Waddington Suite at the Britannia Stadium.
3 Stoke City Players and Pottermus turned up to present the participation certificates to all the children who took part. All the childrens work was showcased on a giant screen at the front of the suite.
Longton High School and Grange Primary won the trophies for best attendance and work.
The PFS nights for 2006 started again in January.
Mark and Phil are now working alongside new Teacher Andy Guest.
Previously he worked in Education as an ICT Trainer delivering I.C.T / Audio/Visual solutions for Education and Business. Connect with Phil on Social
